O'Connell Residence

A family with 3 boys and a great school in the neighbourhood inspired this 2 stage renovation.

Wanting to infuse their own personality and maximize the function of their main floor, the Island, homework area, mudroom and personality pieces were tackled first. The original island was clad in white millwork and leveled off with a quartz slab by LG. In the former dining room, new custom cabinetry has created seating for the 3 boys and Mom & Dad to work at the same time. A splash of colour in the wall coverings and fabrics create an invitation that even the adults cannot resist for Friday night Pizza. Faux Wood Beams from the Woodbeam Company were added for warmth and character both inside and out. Furniture, lighting and reframing of artwork continued the process.

Phase 2 saw the perimeter of the kitchen being re-worked. New custom coloured  cabinets were installed to take advantage of the height and moving the location of the microwave allowed for a statement hood fan and backsplash. A great new carpet was installed on the stairs and upper levels and we are now starting phase 3!
