Over the period of a year, I had the pleasure of working closely with my clients to create an inviting space that reflects their personalities. Nestled among the rolling hills, this original 1960s bungalow was outgrown by the family of five.
Using the original foundation, a 2 storey-layout was created for large family gatherings and an outdoor lifestyle.
Being in the forestry industry, my clients used solid timbers to detail the exterior. Inside, decorative hollow beams from The Woodbeam Company were used to house structural elements and add design details.
Barnwood from the family farm was used throughout the home as a textural wall finish. In the master bedroom, it's dramatic! In the mudroom, it's a pop of colour to detail the back of the lockers. In the TV area, it protects the walls from mini sticks!
The powder room has a teak root sink and is flanked by display cabinets with interior lighting to showcase the owner's private collection of arrowheads.
This home will work for their growing family for many years, where they will be able to create great new memories!
